Os adjetivos (características) geralmente vêm antes da pessoa ou da coisa que descrevem. Por exemplo: Uma pessoa legal = A nice person; A blue car = Um carro azul.

O foco deste texto é a estrutura IT IS NOT (ELE NÃO É / ELA NÃO É / ISSO NÃO É). Usamos IT para falar sobre ANIMAIS, COISAS ou até SENTIMENTOS, mas nunca sobre pessoas. Também aprendemos algumas cores.
NOTAS EXPANDIDAS
1 – Usamos IT para falar sobre animais, coisas e sentimentos. IT não tem gênero, então podemos traduzir como ELE ou ELA, e ainda como ISSO. NÃO usamos IT para falar sobre pessoas.

OBS: Muitas pessoas falam sobre seus animais de estimação usando HE ou SHE.
2 – Em português, muitas vezes podemos deixar ELE/ELA/ISSO de fora das frases. Em inglês, na maioria dos casos, não podemos deixar o IT de fora.

TEXTO COM CONTRAÇÕES
Contrações são muito comuns no inglês falado e na linguagem escrita informal. Geralmente são marcadas pelo apóstrofo (’). Como existem formas diferentes de se unir (contrair) as palavras, trazemos agora duas versões do texto anterior. Note que o sentido não muda.
